Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax: Amazon
When it comes to protecting your car’s paint, there are seemingly endless products to pick from. You’ve got traditional waxes, paint sealants, ceramic sprays, coatings, and more. While your typical car waxes and spray sealants are pretty easy to apply, it doesn’t usually last as long as if you were to apply it by hand–wiping on, and buffing off. But if you want a product that is easy to apply like a wax, but will last a lot longer, you may be more satisfied with a product like a paint sealant.
Paint sealants strike a good balance between longevity and ease-of-application. Paint sealants are synthetic, man-made formulas that chemically bonds to a vehicle’s clear coat. A very popular option that performs well is Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. It contains the latest hybrid SiO2 technology to seal the car’s paint and deliver excellent water-beading performance. I was given a bottle of this product for the purpose of this review and to offer my opinion and experience using it.

So first, how is this product applied? It can be applied by hand or with a dual-action (DA) machine polisher, but honestly this product is so easy (and enjoyable) to apply by hand, I recommend just applying it by hand. Personally, I prefer hand applying waxes because it feels great wiping on wax–I don’t like taking out the machine polisher if I don’t have to. However, if you apply with a DA polisher, you’ll probably get a more even application and longer-lasting protection.
There is approximately a 3-5 cure time before you wipe it off with a clean microfiber towel. Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax is thin (like the consistency of a hand lotion), so it’s easy to spread across the paint. It doesn’t dry white, like you’d see from traditional waxes. This is could be both good and bad.
It’s good in that you don’t have to worry about waxes discoloring your nearby plastic trim. If you’ve had this happen to you before, you know how hard it can be to remove once it’s dried on fully. The not-so-good is that it is more difficult to see where you have applied the wax, which doesn’t allow you to see exactly where you’ve applied so that you can buff it off.

The wax is really easy to work with and has a pleasant fruity or berry-like scent. I think it’s a nice smell that isn’t too overpowering when you’re using it. When the product is curing, there is a slight haze that is a bit harder to see than if you were to use a traditional wax. So, you’ll need to stay focused on which panels you’ve worked on as you move across the car.

Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax offers you an easy-to-apply paint sealant that gives off nice gloss and water beading action, lasting for months when prepped and applied correctly. Because I prefer applying protection by hand, I really enjoyed applying and wiping off this product with microfiber.

I usually like applying waxes because they are much faster to apply than ceramic coatings, but there’s always the frustration when you accidentally get some on your plastic trim and having it dry into a white stain. With this product, even if you get it on plastic trim and don’t wipe it off, it doesn’t stain white. I’m very satisfied with this product as it checks all the boxes without being difficult or costly to apply.
