Chemical Guys Mr. Pink Car Wash Soap: Amazon / Ebay

If you’re looking for a car wash soap, you have a plethora of options to choose from. One of the most popular car wash soaps out there is Chemical Guys Mr. Pink Car Wash Soap. This soap is bright pink in color and smells of bubble-gum or candy-like. This sweet odor paired with its ability to foam up well makes it a great choice whether you wash your car with buckets, a foam gun, or a foam cannon.

Chemical Guys recommends using a 1-2 oz of soap to 5 gallons of water ratio. This ratio results in mediocre suds in a foam gun, but much better foam when used in conjunction with a foam cannon. The nice thing about this soap is that no matter what method you choose to wash your car with, Mr. Pink gets the job done.

Many times, if the car is not significantly dirtied and I can easily use my foam gun and/or bucket wash, then I will do so. Using a foam gun here allowed some suds to stay suspended when washing by hand, however I do have to spray several times over the course of washing the car.

The soapy solution has good lubricity to it allowing for an easy wash. There’s nothing that really stands out to me with this product, but is a good car wash soap. For most folks, the smell is refreshing, however personally the sweet candy-like smell doesn’t particularly bother me, nor does it spark joy either.

The soap washes off pretty well without leaving much residue. As you can see below, Mr. Pink does a good job washing with a simple spray on with a foam gun and use of a wash mitt.

There’s nothing that really stands out with Chemical Guys Mr. Pink. However, it does do everything that I’d want a car wash soap to do: it is highly visible for easy diluting, smells decent, and has enough foaming and lubricity to facilitate washing a car. I can see why this product is so popular amongst the detailing community, however I would expect a bit more from a moderately-priced soap such as this one.

Stop calling it soap – it is not soap it is a surfactant , man made , Sodium Laurel sulphate

    • I think the proper term is probably detergent, although I wonder how confused people would be every time I said ‘Chemical Guys Mr. Pink Car Wash Detergent’. Sodium Laurel Sulphate may be indeed a surfactant, but the entire formula of a “car wash soap” is not a surfactant.
