The Chemical Guys Wonder Wave Durafoam Applicator Pads work perfectly fine, but you do need to follow up with thtat microfiber towel to minimize the chance of tire sling. The size of the pads are too large for me, so I’m always reluctant to reach for these when I’m applying tire dressing. But, they work just fine and they’re pretty cheap since you are getting two decently large applicators for about $7.
I’ve been plenty happy with using my Meguiar’s Water Magnet Drying Towels (I’ve got like five of them), but I’ve been seeing new types of drying towels on the market that are much larger and are super absorbent. The most popular one that I see is the Chemical Guys Wooly Mammoth Microfiber Drying Towel. The curiosity got the best of me and I ordered one to try out.
Chemical Guys sells a horse hair leather cleaning brush that is used to deep-clean the leather in your car. It gets a ton of extremely good reviews on Amazon, yet personally I found it to be an awful tool. I’ll just get right to the point: the Chemical Guys Leather Cleaning Brush may be good at scrubbing leather clean, but it leaves behind so many hairs behind that it’s not even worth using in the first place.
The number of different car cleaning kits available is so vast since a car cleaning kit can be bundled with an endless combination or products and chemicals. To make matters more confusing, the amount of different products and chemicals available in the current car care market is overwhelming. So, I’ve put this list together to not only make it easier to understand why one kit may be better than the other, but to also help you understand why any particular kit is best for you.
If you’re looking for a car wash soap, you have a plethora of options to choose from. One of the most popular car wash soaps out there is Chemical Guys Mr. Pink Car Wash Soap. This soap is bright pink in color and smells of bubble-gum or candy-like. This sweet odor paired with its ability to foam up well makes it a great choice whether you wash your car with buckets, a foam gun, or a foam cannon.
Car wash soaps come in a variety of formalations with some car soaps offering characterstics such as extra lubricity, additional gloss, and additional suds. In the case of Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam, it is a car wash soap that offers more soap suds more than your typical car wash soap. This makes it an excellent candidate for use in a foam gun, especially in a foam cannon.
The short answer is YES, using dishwashing soap is likely okay to use to wash your car. You’re going to get different answers depending on who you ask. Much of the information around this subject is due to the marketing indoctrination saying that you must use a dedicated car wash soap. Reasons given for doing so include: using a non-car soap will damage the car’s paint, a pH-neutral soap MUST be used otherwise it will also strip existing protectants, and dish soap will strip the car of its existing wax/sealant/coating. I don’t believe these claims to be true and I set out to test if a dishwashing soap is ok or not to use wash your car.
Here is a list of car wash soaps that are ranked by the most recommended by auto detailers and detailing enthusiasts in various car detailing forums. It is impossible to know what is “the best” car wash soap out there as it really depends. However in my opinion, I would trust the recommendations of the folks who use many of these products on an everyday basis and therefore can make working comparisons across the field. Without further ado, here is the list of the best car wash soaps based upon recommendations that come up time-and-time again.
