The fastest and easiest way to get a work surface in your garage is just putting out a fold out table kind of like the one you see below. It’s probably the most affordable option and does the job as a work surface wherever you need it. However, if you’re looking for a better-looking and more permanent work surface, you might think about getting a wood or steel workbench. I was considering these options since I wanted to have a more permanent work surface, but installed as a wall-mounted fold out workbench. Before using your new wooden slab as a work surface, you’ll need to protect it so that it stands up to wear-and-tear you’ll be exposing it to. I’ll demonstrate the process of preparing and protecting the wooden workbench top.

At home, I’ve slowly been making the switch from regular keyed door locks, over to electronic door locks that utilize a keypad. This makes it a lot easier to lock and unlock the doors to our house without the need to carry around a physical key. This has worked out well for us at home, soI decided to install the same thing in the garage.

There is no need to cut into or disturb the drywall. The obvious thing to note is that this will be useful to those who are okay with the new outlet location to be located at the light switch.

I also planned to install a wall-mounted garage door opener near the garage door, which I would need to run electrical and provide an outlet for.
