Lexol Leather Cleaner & Conditioner Kit: Amazon

I’ve been holding on to this Leather Cleaner & Conditioner Kit made by Lexol for the longest time. I had the leather seats out of my Audi TT and knew this would be a great time to test it out. I’ll be using the Lexol Leather Cleaner and Conditioner Kit on these seats and providing my opinion on them.

The Lexol Leather Cleaner & Conditioner Kit comes with both the cleaner and conditioner, and also a couple of applicator pads–one round and one rectangular. I felt that these pads were just too big to use, so I didn’t really find a good use for them on these seats where there are lots of nooks and crannies. Even if you’re able to use these with on a larger surface area, you will almost always be dealing with seams and crevices that require the need for an applicator that can conform to these narrow spaces. They might still work okay as a cleaning pad if you don’t have anything else to use.

I much more prefer a scrubbing pad to use with the cleaner to get a good cleaning on the leather. I also prefer to use a microfiber towel to apply, as well as to buff off the leather conditioner.

The best product in my opinion to use to get a really good clean with leather are these scrub pads. I personally have my own brand that I sell, which are double-sided and they work perfectly with the cleaner. The scrub pad along with an all purpose cleaner cleans the leather, and a microfiber towel wipes it off. Cleaning brushes are also essential for cleaning the leather seams where dirt and other grime can get stuck. I’ve included a link to a cleaning brush set that I also offer as well.

The cleaner comes out in a slimy kind of viscosity, which is helpful in that it helps the solution to stay slightly suspended during application. If it is too watery, then it would just drip down and off the leather that you’re applying it to. A slightly more thick solution makes the application easier. I found it useful to apply the cleaner to the scrubbing pad, and then using the scrub pad on the leather directly.

The scent is hard to describe. It’s not fruity, but at the same time sweet and pleasant. After the scrubbing, the dirty stuff mixes with the cleaner solution, which can then be wiped away with a microfiber towel. A detailing brush works well for cleaning the semas of the leather. It’s best to use one hand to pull the seam apart, and use the other hand to brush the seam clean. Dirt tends to get trapped in these areas. The leather surface left behind is a nice clean surface that can now accept the accompanying leather conditioner.

The leather conditioner can then be applied with an applicator pad; my preference is to use a microfiber towel to apply. Using a microfiber towel allows you to get into all the hard-to-reach areas like the seams in the leather seats. The leather conditioner also has a similar scent to the cleaner and applies easily. It’s maybe a little thinner than I would like for a leather conditioner, but still works perfectly well.

After applying the leather conditioner, allow it to settle for few minutes and then wipe away any excess conditioner. The sheen left behind is a slight gloss that is just a little shiny. However, the shine slowly disappears and what’s left behind is a satin kind of gloss (between matte and semi-gloss).

I don’t have a whole lot of experience with different leather cleaners and conditioners, but this product is definitely at the top of my list so far. There are other products that are just way too mild like the Chemical Guys leather cleaner, or they just don’t seem to penetrate the leather very well to condition it. The Lexol produts however, are one of the most popular leather cleaners and conditioners on Amazon now and it has a high volume of reviews with a high rating. I’m very content with how the product worked and how it left my leather seats behind.
