You’ve probably heard of Vessi, as they are probably the most popular shoe brand right now that focuses on waterproof shoes. These particular shoes that I’m reviewing are the Vessi Weekend Shoes in Asphalt Black. The Weekend is a sneaker that is totally waterproof and comes in a wide variety of colors. This particular pair was provided to me by Vessi for the purpose of this review.
I’ve reviewed a number of different Vessi shoes before for the purpose of wearing while washing my car with and Vessi’s are certainly my favorite. It’s not just because they have so many different options when it comes to waterproof sneakers, but also because their shoes are made of high quality and really do last. In fact, these are my second pair Weekend sneakers. I’ve had my previous pair for almost a year now and although they are quite worn, I continue to wear them regularly. And, they still keep my feet dry whenever I wear them washing my car.
Out of the whole Vessi line, my favorite has been and continues to be the Weekend sneakers. Why is that? In my opinion, they are the best looking waterproof sneakers that you can get. I like the different colors that they offer (at the time of this review they have 14 different colors!) and I think that they look really nice no matter what angle you’re looking at them from.
The Vessi Weekend is extremely comfortable to wear and they look great with whatever you wear. They even feel airy and light to wear, even if you choose to not wear socks. It’s also really easy to put on and take off; the back heel folds down if you just need to wear them for a quick dash somewhere. But a simple pull up of the back on the the heel of your foot and you’re ready to go.
As for sizing, Vessi suggests that you size up for these shoes. I completely agree with them in this case as I am typically an exact size of 10.5, and sizing up brings me to a size 11. For me, the size 11 is a perfect fit.
Just like pretty much all of the other shoes in Vessi’s line-up, these shoes perform really well with keeping water out. Even though the shoe feels light and airy, it still prevents your feet from getting wet. Even if you deliberately wet your shoes like I am here, the water just won’t penetrate the waterproof layer of the shoe!
You may not want to look at my dirty socks, but I’m going to show you anyway. I mean look at how dry my feet are: even after dousing my shoes with a hose, my socks are totally dry. This is why any time it rains, I grab these shoes because they keep my feet dry (I hate having wet socks.)
I’ve said before on this review and I’ll say it again, out of all the waterproof shoes I’ve tried over the years, this is by far my favorite pair and I highly recommend them. Especially if you’re looking for a great looking pair of sneakers that you can wear on a regular basis, and have the ability to keep feet dry whenever you wash your car, this is the one to get. At $140 per pair, it’s a bit higher than what you’d expect to get with regular shoes, but compared to other waterproof shoes, pricing is about middle of the pack. But out of any pair of waterproof shoes out there right now, this one is at the top of my list.
