When I’m washing a car, one of the things that keeps me from taking out my foam cannon is having to lug out the power washer and hook everything up. If there’s no reason to pull out the foam cannon, I’d almost always rather use the Two Bucket Wash Method alone. However, sometimes the vehicle may be a bit dirtier and may require pre-soaking with car soap. A foam gun such as this MATCC/MATCEE can be a good alternative to a foam cannon as it can produce extra suds, although certainly not as much as a foam cannon produces.

You’ll find a garden hose in practically any yard you come across, but how many times have you found these hoses all kinked and rolled up in a bulky mess? Sometimes, it may be necessary to have a hose that is easily rolled up and brought along with you. In the case of a mobile car detailer who uses their customers’ water source, it is important to have a long enough garden hose that can be transported in a small form factor.

Spending time inside of a vehicle doing anything other than driving, you may have thought about how convenient it might be to have a place to plug in your AC power device. Newer cars may have a built-in power inverter with a AC plugin socket, but for older cars, you are probably going to need a charger with a cigarette socket connector. I purchased this FOVAL 150W power inverter more than five years ago and have found this device to be incredibly useful for all of the times I’ve had to commute and work inside of my vehicle.

I’ve gone through a number of different phone mounts on my vehicles over the years, but for a while now I’ve been going with one particular brand due to its great quality and thoughtfulness to design: MPOW. I used to purchase these phone mounts exclusively through Amazon as they were one of the highest-rated mounts out there, but as of late I noticed that they are completely missing from the Amazon Marketplace.

I typically use my EZ Detail wheel brush when cleaning wheels, but while I was away from home and needed a wheel brush for some detailing work, I picked up another wheel brush at the local Autozone called the ProElite Wheel and Rim Cleaning Brush. This brush worked well for my wheel cleaning needs for the next few months, although the bristles are a bit tired-looking.

First off, this product was provided to me by Meguiar’s for testing. This product is Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wash and Wax. This product is a bit different from your typical “wash and wax” product as it has two separate chambers: one larger one with the car soap, and another with a smaller one that contains the SiO2 boost “wax”.

If you’ve ever had restored headlights before, you’ll know that after you’ve sanded and polished the headlight lens, it is imperative to applying a coating. Otherwise, the headlight lens will yellow and haze back up again within a matter of time. I recently restored a set of headlights on my car and needed a headlight coating. I purchased a spray bottle of Meguiar’s Keep Clear Headlight Coating and it did a superb job at coating my headlight lenses.

Wheels cleaners are usually pretty effective at removing the dirt and grime that is baked onto the wheels of a car. Typically, wheels are the dirtiest part of a car because it is located so close to the ground and and is constantly being bombarded with brake dust coming from the brakes. Add the fact that the wheels are always exposed to the elements and are always exposed to heat from the brakes, and you have a recipe for hard-to-clean wheels. Griot’s Garage sells this wheel cleaner called Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner that is acid-free and safe, yet is very effective at cleaning very dirty wheels.

One of the biggest bang-for-the-buck improvements you can do on your car is to restore the headlights. I don’t know how many cars I pass on a daily basis that have cloudy, hazy, and yellowed headlight lenses, but I know that almost anyone can spend about $10-$15 for a do-it-yourself headlight restoration kit and can make their headlights look like new. 3M sells a kit, which comes with everything you need with the exception of a power drill to completely revitalize the headlights on your car.
