Tagry X08 Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds: Amazon / Tagry Store
Out of all of the bluetooth earbuds that are currently available on Amazon, there is one that comes up first in the search results due to its incredibly high number of reviews at 4.4 out of 5. I’ve been reviewing a number of headphones and earbuds on this site recently since I have found them to be incredibly useful when working on cars when I don’t want to be bothered. Tagry reached out to me to test out their X08 Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds, so I wanted to give this brand a try. I’ve tested these earbuds over the past month and will be giving my honest feedback on this review.

The Tagry X08 Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds are stored inside a charging case, which is typical of wireless earbuds. The earbuds fit nicely inside of the case, magnetically clicking into place when stored away. The case is charged via the USB-C port at the bottom of the case. The case is on the narrower side, so it fits nicely in your pocket without sticking out too much.
If you’ve used Apple’s 3rd generation AirPods before, you might immediately notice that these Tagry X08 earbuds are almost identical to the Apple AirPods Pro. Comparing the two, you can tell that the Tagry is a certainly modeled after the AirPods. The AirPods have a more substantial feel to them and most importantly sound a lot better than the Tagry’s. It’s also worth noting that the AirPods Pro have active noise cancelling, meanwhile the Tagry X08’s do not.

The biggest reason why people opt for the Tagry X08 earbuds over the premium Apple AirPods is frankly, the price. Apple AirPods Pro currently cost $250 new, meanwhile you can pick up the Tagry X08 for only $25. This means you can buy the Tagry X08 for 10% of the price of the Apple Airpods Pro. This is such a huge price difference, that it’s hard to resist the budget earbuds, especially since they look so much like the AirPods.
In my time with the Tagry X08 Wireless Earbuds, I’ve found the battery life to be very good. I can listen on the earbuds for almost an entire day (at least 6-8 hours) before needing to recharge. Every time I put the depleted earbuds back into the case to charge, it takes up about 25% of the charging case’s battery to recharge. This allows me to listen on the earbuds for almost the whole day, four separate times without having to recharge the case. This matches Tagry’s claims for battery life, which I am pleased with.

One of my biggest gripes with earphones or earbuds in general, is that some just don’t fit my ears right. As a result, they always pop out of my ears if they don’t sit inside the ear canal properly. I’ve had good luck with those that rotate into your ear canal, while some like this one do a decent job at sitting inside the ear without the need to rotate them in place. I would say these do a decent job with staying put inside my ears.
While working on my latest project car, I’ve been using these earbuds and I’ve found that they mostly stay in place. It is only if I move quickly or am in a side/upside down position that they might dislodge. They are also very lightweight, so it helps with staying in place as well. Some earbuds stick out of the ears too much and are heavier, will be more likely to fall out of your ears. These are light and site nicely inside the ear opening.

My main complaint with the Tagry X08 is the sound quality. I’m certainly no audiophile, but I can definitely notice that the sound quality of these are very sub-par. Music sounds muffled on these and there is no app you can download to adjust any equalizer settings to help improve the sound quality. I’ve tried switching over to other earbuds I own and then back to this one, and you easily tell a big difference in the sound quality.
Also, because these earbuds do not have active noise cancelling, you will hear a lot of ambient sound. If you’re looking for earbuds to use so you can isolate yourself from everything around you so you can focus, these are not the ones to get. If you still need to hear the noise around you, this might be of interest to you. I can see myself using these if I go bike riding as it would allow me to easily hear everything around me for safety.

As for the controls on the earbuds, they have this touch sensor on them to control your music and volume. When the earbuds are in your ears, it’s honestly hard to tell exactly where to touch to control the settings. It does work when you do touch the sensors, but it is just a bit hard to control without actually looking at the earbuds.

If you’re looking for some cheap earbuds that you don’t want to worry about getting damaged or dirty, this is definitely worth looking into. They connect to your phone or music playing device quickly and easily, so setup is a breeze. As I’ve mentioned, my biggest issue is the sound quality with these. I do have these as a backup in case my main earbuds go out, but typically when I want to grab some earbuds to use, I normally grab one of my other ones first.
