Slime 42004 Tire Inflator: Amazon
With all of the recent flat tires I’ve gotten, I’m glad that I’ve had a portable tire inflator on hand. Not only am I able to inflate my flat tires enough to get me to the nearest tire shop for repairs, but more recently I’ve been able to inflate my tires after making the repairs myself with a tire plug kit. Also annoyingly, I get low tire pressure warnings, sometimes for no reason at all. I’ll get the warning, check the tire, and find that there’s actually nothing puncturing the tire.
I’ve had this Slime 42004 Tire Inflator for a couple years now and it has helped me inflate my tires during that time. I’d like to give my thoughts on it having used it on a number of times on various cars. There are different Slime tire inflators out there now, but this is the specific one that I’ve used. I would expect the same kind of quality and reliability with the other car tire inflators from Slime.

I had another tire inflator that ended up breaking on me, so I replaced it with this one. Slime is a pretty popular tire repair brand that I recognize. This Slime tire inflator is pretty basic one with just one power button, a pressure gauge, and an integrated light. It has an inflator hose that can be wound up and hidden inside of the unit, as well as an electrical connector to an auxiliary plug which is long enough to reach on either side of the car’s tires.

With my previous tire inflator, the auxiliary plug was kinda cheap, which ended up breaking after a few uses. It was really difficult to find the replacement parts to fix it and I was forced to throw the whole unit away, which was such a waste. On this Slime 42004 Tire Inflator, the auxiliary plug looks and feels much better built than the previous one I had. It has not failed on me for the couple years that I’ve owned even after many uses.

I’ve inflated my tires quite a few times on different vehicles, and this tire inflator has worked every single time. It is a bit noisy, and the whole unit vibrates a lot so the whole thing jumps around while pumping air into the tire. It doesn’t always stay upright (falls over from jumping around too much from vibration) depending on how flat the surface is that it’s sitting on. These things can be a bit annoying, but the fact of the matter is that is still gets the job done.

The good thing about this Slime tire inflator is that it’s dependable. It’s a no-frills unit and may be a bit underpowered, but it will reliabily inflate your tires. I’m pretty content with this tire inflator and it has been the primary one that I’ve used for the past couple of years and running.
