U-Haul offers a variety of rental vehicles for your move. There are a range of moving trucks, cargo trailers (enclosed), and utility trailers (unenclosed). Moving trucks and vans don’t require you to have a vehicle or any additional equipment; your normal Class C driver’s license will suffice. Although, it is undoubtably much more difficult to drive such a large vehicle at times. Here is my review based on using U-Haul’s moving trucks and trailers for several trips between Northern and Southern California.

This is a PSA for those who are planning on renting a 26ft U-Haul Moving Truck. I recently went through a fiasco renting the 26-foot moving truck with U-Haul, so I wanted to share my awful experience in hopes of keeping this from happening to anyone else. Ultimately what I discovered was that thieves are siphoning fuel from these trucks by breaking off a plastic fuel tank vent cap that is found on the top of these fuel tanks. I’ll go into more detail on this post, but I just want you to know that this should be the very first thing you should check before you check out your U-Haul 26ft Moving Truck.

If you’ve ever been to the Island of Maui, you’ll know that the only way to get around the island is by car. In preparation for our 8-day trip, I initially booked a minivan through Turo. If you’re not familiar with Turo, it is a car sharing app that allows you to rent vehicles from other users—think of it like Airbnb for cars. As we got closer to the trip, I shopped around a bit and found that I could get a minivan through Hertz Car Rental for almost half the price of what I booked on Turo.

As usual when travelling, my wife and I try to use Turo whenever we can. Our trip to Kauai was no different. But, as soon as I opened the car door, I noticed something move inside the cabin. I shined a light with my phone and quickly saw there was a small cockroach running away from me. Something else moved out of the corner of my eye and I saw one or two more scurry away. At this point, I was think “Oh hell naw…” and started thinking about how to ditch the rental car.

On the last day staying in an Airbnb in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Manila, Philippines, I went out in the early morning to pick up some breakfast for the family. I noticed some performance cars starting to congregate in Burgos Circle near us. So, I grabbed my camera and took some photos before I had to quickly scurry off to finish packing and catch our flight home.

When traveling to Japan, you get so many opportunities to experience some truly unique things. One of the most unforgettable experiences for me while visiting Japan was taking a tour with MariCAR. While dressed up in various costumes, you can take in the sights of Tokyo up close by riding through the streets of Tokyo on customized go-karts!

In December of 2016, my wife and I took a trip to Maui, HI to attend my friend’s wedding. Since we were going there, we figured that we’d make it a vacation by staying there for a week. We rented a Nissan Leaf to get around the Island. Was it worth it?
